Private Practice Services
A psychological or psycho-educational evaluation should be individualized to each child/adolescent, it is not meant to be a one size fits all model. MLC strives to provide comprehensive private evaluations that are tailored to each individual and their communicated purpose for pursuing an evaluation.
While MLCs assessments may share similarities with other evaluators, MLC evaluations are focused on providing essential useful data for the purposes of supporting children/adolescents with what they need at that moment in time. This translates to evaluations that can include consultation with schools, recommendations for providers that target identified needs, and recommended action plans moving forward.
All too often families are asked to process complex information that is highly specific to the mental health or educational field. While a thorough report with essential information may be provided, in the absence of consultation and action plans, that information can be lost or become useless. Honoring the time and resources that have been devoted to the evaluation process, MLC experts extend their services beyond a written report. Having experience in private and public sectors afford MLC staff the knowledge and opportunity to help families and schools translate the evaluation data to answer the questions “what does this mean” and “what do we do now?”
MLC may also offer intervention services based on a child or adolescent’s needs if appropriate and requested. Interventions may include
* Individual therapy
* Parent coaching
* ABA therapy
MLC’s goal is to simplify and streamline the process of helping children/adolescents and their families identify the resources they may need. We do this by using a multidisciplinary team approach to comprehensive psychological or psycho-educational evaluations. Depending on the purpose of the evaluation, it can include a licensed NH psychologist, a certified school psychologist, a certified special education administrator, a certified special education teacher, a reading and writing specialist, and a BCBA. We specialize in assessing and/or treating
* Learning Disabilities
* Autism Spectrum Disorders
* Anxiety
* School Avoidance/School Refusal
* Childhood Trauma
* ADHD
* Depression
* Intellectual Disability
Evaluations begin with an initial 45-60 minute intake to determine the individualized approach needed for a comprehensive evaluation. Following the intake, Dr. Femia-Hou will review with families next steps and schedule the remaining follow up assessment sessions. Following the completion of the assessment battery, a comprehensive report will be written and provided during a final session.
Per request, Dr. Femia-Hou will virtually attend school based meetings to provide consultation to the school based team if needed. Please know, the philosophy of MLC is rooted in the belief that school districts, teachers, parents, families, and students themselves all aspire to a shared goal of providing children and adolescents with the resources they need. MLC takes a collaborative approach with all essential individuals in a child or adolescents life.
Health Insurance Policy
MLC does not participate in any health insurance plans as an in-network provider, which allows Dr. Femia-Hou to see fewer clients, spend more time with each client and eliminate excess paperwork, thereby delivering higher quality and individualized care. MLC is happy to provide the necessary paperwork and documentation for clients to submit to their medical insurance in an attempt to obtain reimbursement. Please note, Dr. Femia-Hou does not submit paperwork on behalf of clients and does not guarantee insurance companies will provide any form of reimbursement.
Convenience of Payments
Fees are due at the time of the visit by cash or check. Under certain circumstances credit cards may be accepted but are subject to a processing fee. The fee for the first visit is always due at the time of the visit without exception. Please contact Dr. Lisa Femia-Hou to receive her fee schedule.
Cancelation and Deposit Policies
If you do not show up for your scheduled session or cancel less than 24 hours in advance, clients will be responsible for 50% of the intake fee. While we understand emergencies happen, with notice we are able to modify appointment times as needed. Without notice, that time remains reserved.
